Loch Ness Marcy

The newest addition to our family: an otter! We observed it yesterday fishing in our pond for about an hour and a half. Cora (our dog) was going crazy trying to get to it. But everytime she came close the otter would duck underwater and pop up 20 feet away. Very confusing for the dog - and entertaining for us.



Honestly, I have never seen an otter in the water before and I was pretty convinced it was a giant snake. Once Carter talked me out of my giant snake/loch ness monster hysteria and we verified that it was an otter I think it is really cool and I hope it lives close by so we can watch it all year long. Maybe we will even see some baby otters?!



Anastazia wasn't all that interested in the otter. The pond, though, that was really exciting. So exciting that we had to stop her from trying to go in the water on several occasions. I think swim lessons are in our future.

Just living the swinging bachelor lifesyle (matress on the floor, frozen pizza etc). I'm getting out of Salem and am moving into Somerville in May (to be closer to the Boston MFA of course). We just found a place and I'll be living with 4 or my closest friends (perfect number for a book group). I haven't checked the blog for a week or so and I can't believe how many posts there are!

Our new house

We just bought this house in Larchmont, 30 minutes outside of New York. Unfortunately, we don't have photos of the shag / leopard-print carpet, the metallic wallpaper, and the 1970s kitchen (it's all pretty special!). We probably won't move until June 1, as there is obviously a lot of work to do, but we're looking forward to actually having a guest room for visitors!

Sorry we missed all the Christmas festivites. (Gosh, was that almost three months ago already? Time flies). We have been busy moving and settling into our new house and quickly getting to work fixing it up. There is a lot of work that needs to be done! Anastazia is now 15 months old and truly a toddler - walking around and babbling non-stop. She has quite a few words, including "tractor", "da-da", "boom boom" (for hammer), and "apple." She is a daddy's girl.




I am posting a few pictures - one is a recent picture of A, one is a picture of our house this winter and the last one is the view from our front yard... Enjoy! Hope all is well with everyone and I hope we get to see you all really soon!

Extended Seeds

Does anyone object if we invite other members of our extended family to join the blog? I am thinking of Aunt Lucy, Linda's parents, Aunt Louise, and others that you could invite. Hello???

I check the MS every morning, wondering which family photo or witty comment will bring a smile to my face. Where is everyone??? It seems like you all have disappeared (or had the audacity not to make an appearance in the first place). Maybe I'm not doing this blog thing right and I can't see all the new posts??? Fred IV and Sweet Melissa, thanks for staying on top of things. Where were those pictures taken? I need a vacation! I do have my 10 year college reunion coming up in Orlando in 2 weeks... Not very excited because I'm afraid it will be a wake up call that my life still resembles that of the days at Kappa Kappa Gamma! (C'mon, Sus, I know that ought to get you fired up!)
